Nonnewaug Chiefs Co-op Football Team Earns Hard-Fought 28-12 Road Win in Plainfield
Nonnewaug Chiefs improve to 2-0 with a win against Valley Panthers, fueled by a strong rushing attack and key defensive plays.

PLAINFIELD – The Nonnewaug Chiefs Co-op football team defeated the Valley Panthers 28-12 on Friday, raising their record to 2-0 under first-year head coach Scott Lynch.
Davion Joe led the offense with 114 rushing yards and three touchdowns. He also had four receptions for 43 yards and an interception on defense. Derek Chung caught four passes for 99 yards and a touchdown and recovered a fumble.
Quarterback Brady Herman completed 12 of 19 passes for 193 yards and a touchdown. Robert Metcalf added four receptions for 61 yards, an interception, and was good on all four of Nonnewaug's extra points. Scott Viveros had 44 rushing yards, and Herman added 13.

On defense, Jaxx Willey recorded two sacks, and Noe Quijada had one.
The Nonnewaug Co-op, which includes students from Nonnewaug, Shepaug Valley, and Lakeview, will next face the Wilcox Tech/Kaynor Tech co-op on Saturday in Meriden.
