Region 15 Feud Reportedly Escalates Between Middlebury, Southbury

MIDDLEBURY, CT — The directive for Middlebury's Republican Board of Education members to vote against any school budget increase for next year has the Region 15 board's Southbury members annoyed, reports the Waterbury Republican-American.

Middlebury's Republican Town Committee recently issued the directive, but the board members from the town vow the recommendation will not affect their vote.

But some Southbury members, who outnumber Middlebury members because Southbury is a larger community, question the directive because they believe politics should not creep into the education sphere.
