Rescue Stories - Better Days Rescue Fund

We are sharing these stories as part of the Give Local on-line giving event April 25-26

Better Days Rescue Fund is an all-volunteer, local cat rescue based in Woodbury. We rescue cats and kittens from incredibly sad and difficult situations and we work to put as many in forever homes as we can. Unfortunately, many come to us with physical and emotional trauma and it is very difficult to find families willing to adopt them. We are working hard to renovate a house into a sanctuary so that these special needs cats can live out the remainder of their lives in comfort. We need help from the public and we are participating in the Give Local on-line giving event April 25-26th. If these stories touch your heart, please help by clicking this link and making a donation before 7 pm Wednesday. Give Local Donation Page

Saving Grace
Someone purposely put a rubber band around Grace’s neck. After several days, it was cutting into her skin, restricting her breathing. She tried to get it off, but only managed to nearly cut off her ear. The pictures of her when we found her are too graphic to show. Donations from the public helped pay for her surgery and care, Grace has been adopted into a forever home!

Abigail
Abigail was rescued from a hoarding situation, malnourished and afraid. She had a severe leg deformity and we’re not sure how she managed to survive. The vet advised us not to amputate her unusable leg. Today, she’s an active, independent cat who has not let her disability slow her down! While she enjoys the other cats in her foster home, she’s not fond of people and so will live her life with us. Your donation will help Abigail and other cats like her live in comfort in the sanctuary.

Maverick

We rescued Maverick after he was attacked by an animal and suffered on his own for 10 days. Injured with infected bite wounds, it was the generosity of the community that allowed us to get him the vet care that saved his life. Your donation today can help us rescue more cats like Maverick.
