WEATHER ALERT: Middlebury, Woodbury Facing Subzero Windchills; Possible Substantial Snow Storm Early Monday

Remember when there was a dearth of snow this winter? On the heels of this week’s storm, Mother Nature is continuing her efforts to make up for lost time.

Here’s what you need to know:

• Wind advisory in effect from 4 p.m. Friday to 4 p.m. Saturday.

• Winds will be sustained during this time between 15-25 mph and gusts could exceed 45-50 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

• Temperatures will fall below freezing outside Friday night and Saturday.

• On Friday, the low temperature is expected to be around 2 degrees and the windchill values will be between -5 and -15. On Saturday, the high temperature won’t reach 20 degrees and it will be windy as well. Please bundle up if you plan to be outside.

• Snow possible late Sunday into Monday.

• On Thursday, the National Weather Service expressed doubt about a significant snowstorm for late Sunday but that has changed somewhat.

• In its Hazardous Weather Outlook bulletin, the weather service says this morning that “low pressure will track south of Long Island Sunday night and Monday. The exact track and timing of the system are still uncertain. There is a potential for six inches or more of snow.”

• If it does snow, the NWS expects it will begin falling likely after the Super Bowl has ended, after 10 p.m. Sunday.
