Westover Student Leaders Elected for 2014-2015 Academic Year

Middlebury, Connecticut – The seven Student Heads of School have been elected for the 2014-2015 Academic Year. The seven Heads of School are members of the Class of 2015 who were elected to their positions by the members of the student body in April. The Heads of School run the School’s morning assembly and serve on many councils within the School.

The seven Heads of School for 2014-2015 are: First Head of School - Julia Cooper of Washington Depot; Second Head of School - Isabella Yu of Cheshire; Third Head of School - Katie Kuenzle of Roxbury; First Athletic Association Head - Sophia Hodson of Monroe; Second Athletic Association Head - Sophia Bourgeois of Woodbury; Head Day Student - Kristen McLean of Seymour; and Head Dormitory Proctor - Dhalia Tejada of Newark, New Jersey.

The student body and the School’s dorm parents have also selected the dormitory proctors, who are responsible for assisting dorm parents in the School’s boarding program. In addition to Dhalia Tejada as Head Proctor, the 2014-2015 proctors are Shannon MacRae of Nashua, New Hampshire; Chelsea Miller of Chestnut Ridge, New York; Nimat Muhammad of Newark, New Jersey; Ang Sherpa of Jackson Heights, New York; Minh To of Hanoi, Vietnam; Meghan Vogel of Andover, Massachusetts; and Nina Wernick of Coral Gables, Florida. In addition, Nicole Masozera of Kigali, Rwanda, will be the International Proctor, and Sophie Atkins of Rye, New York, and Sahra Hassan of Hargeisa, Somalia, have been selected as Alternate Proctors.

Westover is a selective boarding and day school in Middlebury, Connecticut, with 205 students in grades 9-12 from 17 states and 20 countries. The School offers its students more than 20 Advanced Placement courses as well as signature programs in science, engineering, art history, and music.
