Woman Leaves Child in Hot Car in Connecticut but Spares Dog

A woman left her daughter in her Mercedes while out shopping.

A New York City woman left her 2-year-old daughter in her car during the hot month of August, the Waterbury Republican-American reported. The woman was on a shopping trip but didn’t forget to bring her dog into the store with her, the paper reported.

Whitney Luce Armstrong, 28, left her child in the car for 11 minutes on Aug 12. when the temperature was 75 degrees, according to the publication.

Bystanders and employees heard the child crying and the manager of a home furnishing store called New Milford police a little before 2 p.m.

Surveillance cameras confirmed the series of events.

The Republican-American reported that Armstrong was arraigned in Bantam Superior Court on Tuesday for risk of injury to a minor.
