Woodbury Church Congregation Votes To Close
First Congregational Church will have its last service in the spring.
WOODBURY, CT — First Congregational Church has voted to close its doors following a May 31 service, The Waterbury Republican-American reported. Rev. Howard Mayer recently sent a notice to members regarding the vote, which happened in September.
The church's numbers have been dwindling for the last four years. It has a deep history in Woodbury, being founded in the 1600s by the town's founders.
