Woodbury Introduces Pedestrian Flags To Enhance Safety

The bright orange flags are intended to warn drivers that pedestrians are crossing busy streets.

WOODBURY, CT - The Public Works Department has introduced bright orange flags for busy streets intended to warn drivers about pedestrians crossing, according to the Republican-American. Town officials said that they had noticed that drivers aren't always stopping for pedestrians in crosswalks, so the flags are intended to make them more visible. The flag stands are moveable and can be taken to different intersections as needed.
