WOODBURY – Scouts from Woodbury Troop 54 watched Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department firefighters recover the body of "Rescue Randy” from an overturned Jeep on Saturday October 19th. (photos).

Rescue Randy is a crash dummy, and the firefighters were practicing the use of specialized equipment for extricating victims trapped in vehicles as a result of automobile accidents. Among other scenarios, a junked and donated car was jammed against a tree down a steep slope behind department. headquarters at 25 Quassuk Rd., Woodbury. “We constantly evaluate what we’re doing,” said Deputy Chief David Lampart. “The goal is fast, efficient, safe acts to save lives.”
