Woodbury Sues Resident Tom Arras over Yard Signs: Report

Arras has repeatedly placed signs on his property for more than a year, most of which have been critical of town officials.

WOODBURY, CT — The proverbial other shoe has dropped and Woodbury has filed a lawsuit against Main Street South resident Tom Arras over his controversial yard signs, reports the Waterbury Republican-American.

Arras has repeatedly placed signs on his property for more than a year, most of which have been critical of town officials - especially First Selectman William Butterly - and policies. He has ignored orders to take down the signs, which the town says violate Historic District ordinances.

The lawsuit has a return date of Jan. 9 in Litchfield Superior Court. Town officials are seeking legal fees and a judge's order to force Arras to comply and remove the sign.
