Woodbury's North Congregation Church Receives Repairs

The church is turning 200 years old.

WOODBURY, CT — North Congregation Church in Woodbury turns 200 years old this year, and reportedly is receiving some repairs as a result.

But as NBC Connecticut News reports, the church's steeple and large lantern that sit atop the structure required more work than anticipated.

The work has proved to be a bit nerve-wracking because portions of the steeple experienced some rot. Not to mention that the lantern weighs about 14,000 pounds, making its removal a delicate process.
