• A Bike Trail in Delaware for When You Don't Want a Hike (onlyinyourstate.com) — If you’re looking for an easy ride close to home, the Michael N. Castle C&D Canal Trail starts near the Branch Canal just south of Delaware City and offers 12.1 miles of mostly flat, paved path. A short Branch Canal spur brings you toward Delaware City’s businesses and historic sites, and you can easily pair your outing with nearby Fort Delaware or Fort DuPont State Parks.

• New Castle County library days, hours to shuffle this summer (wdel.com) — Delaware City readers should know that New Castle County libraries will close on Sundays in July and August, and the independent Delaware City Library may also change its hours. Bear, Hockessin, and Kirkwood branches will drop to six days a week, while Sunday hours return at some locations in September. Residents are urged to contact the Delaware City Library directly for its latest schedule.
