• DNREC Announces Year's First Detection of West Nile Virus from Sentinel Chickens (einpresswire.com) — West Nile virus has been detected this summer in Delaware’s sentinel chickens, and residents north of Dover are directed to call DNREC’s Glasgow field office for mosquito control help. While no human cases are reported yet in 2026, officials urge horse owners to vaccinate and all residents to reduce standing water, use repellents, and take other precautions through mid-October.
