New Castle County utility sues PFAS makers for cost of filtration (delawarepublic.org) — New Castle County water customers, including many around Newark, are at the center of a major lawsuit as Veolia seeks at least $34.6 million from PFAS manufacturers to cover filtration costs at its Stanton plant. The suit alleges a Newark industrial site helped contaminate local creeks feeding drinking water, and could pave the way for more utilities to pursue similar claims.

DelDOT Warns of I-95/SR 896 Interchange Lane Closures Near Newark (tvdelmarva.com) — Expect daytime lane closures on the I-95 southbound off-ramp to southbound Route 896 and lane restrictions on northbound Route 72 early next week around Newark, along with a 24/7 lane reduction on northbound I-95. Officers reported finding multiple drugs in the truck, and the driver is now being held on secured bail while the investigation continues.

Amid Clancy mistrial, Delaware has help for moms' mental health (delawareonline.com) — A Newark-based nonprofit, Josie’s Grace, is giving new parents free, early mental health support through its local “4th Trimester” program and community events. Founded by a former ChristianaCare nurse, it joins Postpartum Support International’s Delaware chapter in pushing for better postpartum screening and access to care, aiming to prevent isolation and serious maternal mental health crises statewide.
