• ‘Erroneous conclusion': Former Christina superintendent appeals $2.7M lawsuit (newarkpostonline.com) — Leadership turmoil in the Christina School District, which serves the greater Newark area, has escalated as former superintendent Dan Shelton appeals a federal judge’s dismissal of his $2.7 million wrongful-termination lawsuit. The appeal challenges how the judge interpreted Shelton’s contract and leave status, capping two years of acrimonious board infighting, FOIA violations, and public clashes that have distracted from district priorities.
   

• Newark to install up to $1 million worth of solar panels (newarkpostonline.com) — Newark is moving ahead with up to $1 million in new solar panels on city buildings, parking lots, and parks, with no net cost to taxpayers thanks to an energy savings contract. City council just approved the purchase so Newark can meet a July 4 deadline for federal tax credits, while also exploring LEDs, water-saving fixtures, and battery storage upgrades.
   

• Team Delaware Heads to Minnesota for Special Olympics USA Games (delawarelive.com) — Nearly 60 Special Olympics Delaware athletes, many who just competed at the University of Delaware in Newark, are heading to Minnesota for the 2026 USA Games June 20–26.
