• Smyrna man arrested for murder, child abuse (wmdt.com) — Police say a Smyrna resident has been arrested after his 10-year-old daughter was found dead in a home on Oakwynn Circle, and two other children were also discovered with signs of abuse. Investigators allege the girl was repeatedly struck with a belt and later died in her bedroom. The suspect is being held on a substantial cash bond while the case proceeds.
