Title V Permit Renewal Applications: Wilmington Wastewater Treatment Plant (delaware.gov subscription) — Wilmington's wastewater treatment plant at 12th Street and Hay Road is seeking renewal of its state air-quality operating permit, with updated flare limits, more frequent VOC testing, and new rules for an emergency generator. Residents can review the draft permit online and submit written comments or request a public hearing by October 2, 2026, if they're concerned about local air impacts.
   

2. Wilmington Gun Complaint Leads to Arrest, Weapons Charges (mychesco.com) — Wilmington police say a Sunday morning gun complaint on North Jefferson Street led to the arrest of a 31-year-old woman and the recovery of a loaded 9mm handgun. She faces concealed weapon and untraceable firearm charges, received traffic citations, was arraigned, and released on $1,500 secured bail, with all charges still to be proven in court.
   

3. Wilmington Shooting Leaves Man Wounded as Police Seek Answers (mychesco.com) — A 39-year-old man was shot Tuesday night on the 800 block of West 7th Street in Wilmington and is reported in stable condition at the hospital. Police are still seeking information about what happened and are asking anyone with tips to contact a detective or Delaware Crime Stoppers.
   

4. New life for Old Bohemia: After restoration, St. Francis Xavier Shrine in Diocese of Wilmington will welcome visitors for first time since 2023 (thedialog.org) — Catholics and history lovers in the Wilmington diocese will soon be able to visit Old Bohemia's St. Francis Xavier Shrine again, as it reopens to the public on December 6 after major structural repairs. Monthly Masses, weddings, funerals, and educational visits are returning, and the volunteer-run historical society is inviting new members and support for continued restoration work.
