Wilmington Mayor Mike Purzycki and Parks and Recreation Director Ian Smith today thanked Amazon and the employees of the fulfillment center coming soon to Boxwood Road for their hard work cleaning and beautifying three City parks on Monday – Christina Park, Kirkwood Park, and William “Judy” Johnson Memorial Park – and enthusiastically welcome the company to the area. “Our City is comprised of great neighborhoods, parks, and people,” said the Mayor, “and Amazon opened its relationship with Wilmington in a big way. Thank you for your efforts to improve our parks and for caring about the community in which you work.” The Mayor is happy to share Amazon’s news release about the day of service, which is presented below.
