“Wilmington cares about animals and their owners, so we are very happy to join with the Brandywine Valley SPCA to again host this FREE pet clinic and urge you to tell your neighbors and friends about it,” said Mayor Purzycki. “The BVSPCA does a tremendous amount of work regarding pet care, adoption, and education, and I urge you also to continue supporting their efforts.”
“Now more than ever, we want to help families give their pets the best possible care, regardless of economic circumstances,” said Adam Lamb. “This will be our most robust free pet wellness event to date as we add free microchipping to the free vaccinations and pet food pantry we’ve offered in the past. We’re grateful to the Mayor and Petco Foundation for making it possible to help hundreds of families in Wilmington.”
To participate in this pet wellness day and to help maintain safety and proper distancing advance registration is required, attendees must be 18 years or older, each signup is limited to two adults, and all attendees MUST wear masks.
Each year, the Brandywine Valley SPCA cares for over 14,000 animals and finds homes or other placement for at least 95% of the homeless pets that enter its shelter. Mayor Purzycki said the BVSPCA is dedicated to maintaining an open-door policy for animals and a commitment to lifesaving and second chances. He said the Brandywine Valley SPCA is working tirelessly to cultivate a no-kill community and deserves our support.
