Share Your Thoughts About SROs in Our Schools
Christina School District is inviting students, staff, families, and community members to share their thoughts on the role of SROs

The Christina School District is seeking feedback from our students, staff, families, and community members about School Resource Officers (SROs) in school buildings. As part of our comprehensive approach to school safety and security, Christina contracts with the Delaware State Police, Newark Police Department, and Wilmington Police Department and also employs Constables.
- What are SROs? School Resource Officers (SROs) are police officers employed by the Delaware State Police who are contracted to assist in our schools. They have full law enforcement authority, including the ability to make arrests when necessary. SROs are trained in both law enforcement and working with youth in educational settings.
- What are Constables? Constables are armed Christina safety and security personnel who work to maintain a safe school environment. They are district employees specifically trained in safety protocols, emergency response, and conflict de-escalation.
- How do they work together? Currently, SROs are assigned to each secondary school, working alongside Constables to provide comprehensive safety coverage. In addition, our Constables assist at elementary schools as needed. SROs and Constables work in partnership to ensure the safety and security of all students and staff throughout the district.
