A Statement from Christina School District
Over the past few weeks, we have heard from many of you regarding the recent county-wide property reassessment.

Over the past few weeks, we have heard from many of you regarding the recent county-wide property reassessment. We want to speak directly to our residents who have been the bedrock of this community for decades. You are the neighbors who have built your lives here, faithfully invested in our schools year after year, and funded the education of generations of students. Your commitment is the foundation upon which our district stands, and we take our responsibility to honor your long-term investment very seriously.
With that responsibility in mind, the Christina School Board is scheduled to discuss resetting the district's property tax rate on August 21st. Our goal is to adjust the tax rate to offset the new, higher property assessments. As reported by the Newark Post, this move is intended to be "revenue neutral" and could reduce the tax bill for the median residential property in our district.
As we move forward you can expect following:
- Responsiveness: We will continue to answer your questions and provide clear, timely information about the tax reassessment process.
- Action: We are actively working to bring tax relief to those residents adversely affected by the shifting from commercial properties to residential properties.
We encourage you to stay informed by reading the recent articles in the local news media and to follow our upcoming public meeting.
