External visitors can upload required COVID-19 vaccination or test records ahead of event

The University of Delaware has developed a digital system to allow external visitors to upload their COVID-19 vaccination or negative PCR COVID-19 test results before attending a UD-sponsored event, providing a quick and easy way to help protect the health and safety of the community.

The new Visitor Events Health Pass replaces the need for visitors to show paper copies or photo images of vaccination or test records when entering an event space. As of Sept. 10, external visitors ages 12 and older must provide proof of full vaccination or a negative test taken within 72 hours of a UD-sponsored event.

The pass is integrated with the online UD Daily Health Check, which has been in place since last year for all students, faculty, staff and visitors using campus facilities. 

Also, external visitors who use this digital pass do not have to provide their vaccination record at each event. Once they submit a valid record, that proof is linked to their email address and birthdate for future UD-sponsored events. 

External visitors who do not upload a COVID-19 vaccination record must upload a negative PCR COVID-19 test result within 72 hours of a UD-sponsored event.

Visitors who do not use the enhanced digital system may still provide paper copies or photo images of their records at the event.

Regardless of vaccination status, all external visitors at UD-sponsored events — as well as UD students, faculty and staff — must complete the UD Daily Health Check on the day of the event and display a green icon for admission. Also, masks are required for everyone indoors at all times and outdoors when within 3 feet of others. 

As of Sept. 29, about 91% of UD students are vaccinated for COVID-19, as well as 90% of faculty and staff who have been on campus in the past seven days.
