The person who found the first message is a University of Delaware student, and the University is working closely with her and her family to support them. It is unknown if the second incident involves a student.
A Nov. 12 letter to the UD community from President Dennis Assanis and Fatimah Conley, vice president of institutional equity and chief diversity officer, noted that such expressions of hate are counter to the University’s values.
Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact Officer R. Parker at 302-366-7100, ext. 3586 or rparker@newark.de.us. Additional methods for providing information to Newark Police may be found on the department’s tips page, where reward information is also available.
