The Mayor today thanked City Parks and Recreation, CarePort MD, the Wilmington Community Advisory Council (WCAC), United Way, the Latin American Community Center, and numerous other community partners who have united to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 across our City.
Mayor Purzycki said the City will be able to move past the negative effects of the pandemic as more and more residents get vaccinated. The Mayor said the virus is still a concern, so he urged residents to get vaccinated as soon as possible. To assist in this effort, the Mayor said the City will make every effort to offer COVID-19 vaccinations at as many events as possible throughout the summer. Mayor Purzycki also asked residents to continue to get tested for the virus, wear a mask, avoid large indoor crowds, and wash their hands regularly.
