2 Georgetown Robbery Victims Beaten, DC Police Investigate

GEORGETOWN, DC — Two robberies in Georgetown — one involving a woman who was beaten and robbed in a parking garage and one of a man who was robbed at gunpoint outside a convenience store — are being investigated by D.C. police.

The first incident happened shortly before 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, in the 1000 block of Thomas Jefferson St. The woman, later identified as a FOX 5 DC employee, told police that she was inside the parking garage when the suspect approached her from behind and punched her in the face.

"Give me the wallet," the robber demanded, according to the police report.

Police said the suspect took the woman's wallet and car keys and fled on foot. He was last seen running north on 30th St. NW.

"I am new to the city, I work in the city and I do a lot of things on my own so it's just kind of a reminder that you have to protect yourself and anything can happen to you no matter if you are in like a good neighborhood or you think you have everything together," she said, according to FOX 5 DC.

The suspect was captured by a nearby surveillance camera, according to authorities. The pictures can be found below:

The second incident occurred on Monday, Oct. 14, in the 1400 block of Wisconsin Ave. Police say at approximately 1:49 p.m., a man was robbed at gunpoint outside the MAJOR convenience store. The suspect allegedly brandished a handgun, struck the victim, and stole cash.
