Kilpatrick Townsend Adds Attorney Susan Hu to Firm’s Washington, D.C. Office

Washington, D.C. (October 21) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today the addition of Susan Hu to the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.  Ms. Hu joins the firm as an associate on the Tax Team in the nationally-recognized Corporate Finance and Real Estate Department.

Ms. Hu focuses her practice on civil and criminal federal tax controversies and litigation.  Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Hu spent six years serving as legal counsel to the I.R.S. Office of Chief Counsel.  While there she represented the I.R.S. before the United States Tax court; prepared and developed cases for referral to the Department of Justice for prosecution or defense; and provided litigation support and oversight for trial attorneys handling Individual, Corporate, Estate Tax, Gift Tax, and Global Settlement Initiative (GSI) cases.  She also provided formal and informal advice to the I.R.S. Appeals, Collection and Examination and taught courses and workshops for Chief Counsel and I.R.S. employees.

Ms. Hu earned her B.A. in Business-Economics and Political Science from the University of California Los Angeles and her J.D. from Loyola Law School, Order of the Coif.  She also earned her LLM in Taxation with her Employee Benefits Certificate from Georgetown University Law Center, with distinction.
