Leading Intellectual Property Attorney Joins Kilpatrick Townsend in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC (December 2) Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today the addition of attorney Michael Dimino to its internationally-recognized Intellectual Property Department. Mr. Dimino joins Kilpatrick Townsend’s Washington, D.C. office as Counsel on the Electronics and Software Team.

“We’re thrilled that Michael is joining Kilpatrick Townsend,” said Steve Baskin, Kilpatrick Townsend’s Washington, DC Office Managing Partner. “He will be an excellent addition to our already strong Electronics and Software Team and to the D.C. office.  Michael’s expertise will be a valuable resource to clients across the firm, and we look forward to working with him.”

Mr. Dimino focuses his practice on intellectual property due diligence in support of mergers and acquisitions; technology licensing including Open Source software issues; IP rights under federal research and development contracts; and patent preparation, prosecution, and reexamination.  He has expertise with a wide range of technologies including cellular telephone networks, digital filters, homeland security, electromechanical devices, bioinformatics, and a broad array of software applications.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Dimino developed radio frequency surveillance systems for the U.S. Department of Defense from 1987 through 1997. During this period, his training and experience included computer systems engineering, software engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical power generation, radio frequency direction finding and communications. Among his duties during that period were drafting and monitoring federal research and development contracts.

Mr. Dimino earned his B.S. in electrical engineering from Pennsylvania State University, his Masters in Systems Engineering from George Mason University, and his J.D., magna cum laude, from St. Mary’s University School of Law.
