Sprinkles Georgetown Commemorates Its 1st Anniversary with Free Cupcakes

Sprinkles Cupcakes, the world’s first cupcakes-only bakery, announced today that patrons of the Georgetown location (3015 M Street, NW) will receive one free cupcake per person on Thursday, March 22 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. to celebrate the bakery’s one year anniversary.

“We are thrilled that our Georgetown location has done so well in its first year,” said Sprinkles co-founder and executive pastry chef Candace Nelson.  “It’s a great feeling to have become such a popular part of the Georgetown neighborhood and greater DC community.”Washingtonians will be able to meet Nelson, a permanent judge on Food Network’s Cupcake Wars, as she greets fans at Sprinkles Georgetown on Thursday, March 22 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.  

In its first year Sprinkles Georgetown has donated more than $150,000 in cash and cupcakes to local charities and organizations, including BabyLove DC, Washington Hospital Center and several D.C. area schools.

“It has always been important for us to have a larger impact on our local communities,” said Sprinkles co-founder and President Charles Nelson.  “This is why a core component of our mission is to be the charitable cupcake bakery.”
