Authorities Say There May Be More Victims of Rabbi Accused of Voyeurism
Rabbi reportedly arranged for college students to visit Georgetown synagogue.

A Georgetown rabbi accused of voyeurism was also a professor at a Maryland university and authorities are worried that students may also be among the victims he allegedly videotaped in the nude at a Georgetown synagogue, according to a report in The Washington Post.
The Post story notes that Rabbi Barry Freundel, 62, invited Towson University students to visit his Georgetown synagogue on field trips to DC, where he invited them to use a ritual bath called a mikvah.
Freundel reportedly began teaching at the university five years ago. Police searched Freundel’s office on campus, university officials told the Post.

Rabbi Freundel, the spiritual leader of Georgetown synagogue Kesher Israel, has been charged by DC’s Metropolitan Police Department with voyeurism, according to a report by Washingtonian magazine. The magazine noted that police officers were seen carrying computer equipment away from Freundel’s home last Tuesday, Oct. 14.
The case allegedly involves a hidden camera in the synagogue, according to The Washington Post.

Freundel has led Kesher Israel, located at 2801 N St., since 1989.
