Bank of Georgetown Hosts Taco Night for Teens

Bank's CEO Mike Fitzgerald and a group of employees dined with 30 teens from Alternative House in Northern Virginia.

A group of teens from Alternative House recently enjoyed taco night with Bank of Georgetown CEO Mike Fitzgerald and a group of bank employees at Culmore Teen Center, an Alternative House location that provides an escape from Fairfax neighborhood gangs and violence.

Alternative House serves as a refuge for runaway, homeless, abused and at-risk youth. Bank of Georgetown hosted the dinner as part of the its 10th anniversary service initiative, ‘Give Back: Tenfold,’ which supports 10 local nonprofits to which employees volunteer their time and resources.

Employees across the bank’s 13 locations in Maryland, Virginia and D.C. organized into teams and designed projects that would impact their designated nonprofit and reflect Bank of Georgetown’s commitment to the community. Team Alternative House is also raising money and awareness for the organization by increasing attendance at its Open Door Information Sessions and hosting a Back to School supplies drive and a Thanksgiving basket food collection.
