Bank Robbery: Nike Baseball Cap Bandit Strikes DC Bank, FBI Says

The FBI estimated the man is somewhere between the ages of 50 and 60; they said he was wearing a dark-blue Nike baseball cap.

A man robbed a SunTrust bank Monday on Pennsylvania Avenue in DC, according to the FBI.

The robbery suspect walked into the bank, located at 300 Pennsylvania Ave. SE, at approximately 9:15 a.m., approached the teller and passed a note demanding money, the FBI said. The subject then left the bank on foot.

The FBI described the man as black, age 50-60, about 5’7” tall, with a medium build. The unknown male subject was also described as wearing a dark-colored jacket, blue pants and a dark-blue Nike baseball cap.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the identification, arrest and conviction of this bank robber.

The FBI/Metropolitan Police Department Violent Crimes Task Force is investigating this robbery and requests that anyone with information call the FBI at 202-278-2000 or MPD’s tip line at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the police department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.
