Blue Bottle Coffee To Open Georgetown Cafe

Speciality roaster Blue Bottle Coffee will open a cafe in early July at 1046 Potomac St. NW.

GEORGETOWN, DC — Speciality roaster Blue Bottle Coffee will soon open two cafes in DC — one in Georgetown this summer, and another in Union Market this fall, according to Eater.

Blue Bottle Coffee opened in 2005 in Oakland, California and quickly gained a cult following around the Bay Area. It's now expanded across California, has locations in New York and Japan and plans to open locations in Miami to Boston.

"D.C. is such an interesting cultural and political hub—we're expecting a fast pace and vibrant cafe environment," Bryan Meehan, CEO, said in a statement. "And we can't wait."
