Blue Jeans Ball, Annual Fundraiser to End Hunger, Set for March 13

Annual event is a fundraiser for the Capital Area Food Bank, predicted to serve up 37 million meals this year to the needy.

WASHINGTON, DC -- The 13th annual Blue Jeans Ball is set for Sunday, March 13. The annual event is a fundraiser for the Capital Area Food Bank, which is predicted to provided 37 million meals to the needy this year.

The Blue Jeans Ball takes places at the Marriott Marquis, 901 Massachusetts Ave. NW. The evening begins at 5 p.m. with a VIP reception, 6 p.m. with tastings, cocktails and silent auction and at 8 p.m., a program and live auction will begin. Valet parking will be available for a fee.

Tickets for the event start at $200.

Restaurant co-chairs this year are Chef Ruth Gresser of Pizzeria Paradiso, Chef Sherry Yard of City Perch Kitchen + Bar, and Chef Jeff Buben of Vidalia, Bistro Bis, and Woodward Table.

The event will be emceed by Scott Thuman of ABC7/WJLA-TV and News Channel 8.The Allen Chapel AME Church Gospel Choir will kick off the program with a live performance. Other live entertainment will be provided by DJ John Jazz and Miss H.E.R.
