I am looking to transfer ownership in our boat club membership to someone who would like to take it over. The membership is like making a monthly car payment, and then getting to use any one of a bunch of different boats in 3 different locations (Southwest waterfront in DC, Annapolis in Maryland, Occoquan in Virginia) anytime you want for 6 months out of the year. It’s a great thing to do with kids and/or to entertain friends and business associates. The good part about taking over from us versus doing it on your own is that we’ve already paid the hefty initiation fee (which usually runs $4-$6k), so we’re just looking for someone to take over the payments and use the membership for the remaining 3 year timeframe.
