A bomb threat forced a brief evacuation of the Smithsonian National Zoo on Friday, according to a report in The Washington Post.
The Post reported that the zoo reopened at about 3 p.m. Friday. The newspaper reported that a threat was received at about noon on Friday.
There was speculation on Twitter that an ape had escaped, but zoo officials said the rumor was not true, CNN reported.
