CGI America: Re-establishing America's Economic Ingenuity
President Clinton will convene the first ever CGI America meeting later this June in Chicago.

Since its inception in 2005, President Clinton’s Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) has served as a global platform for leaders to come together to create and implement innovative solutions to some of the world's most pressing issues. With current and former heads of state, Nobel Prize laureates, CEO’s, and many more joining together in the spirit of true collaboration, CGI members have already made nearly 2,000 commitments, impacting more than 300 million people in over 180 countries.
Most people would be satisfied with the wide spread impact triggered by such an initiative; However, President Clinton has not settled for complacency. Continuing to seek solutions to major dilemmas, later this month President Clinton will take the task of addressing arguably the greatest issue affecting Americans domestically- the economy.
Branching out of CGI, on June 29-30th, 2011, President Clinton will lead the first ever CGI America meeting in Chicago. Through CGI America, President Clinton will bring together business, government, and civic leaders to focus on economic recovery and job growth; in an effort to re-energize the U.S. economy, create jobs, and better equip workers for new opportunities.

As stated on CGI America's website, "At CGI America, participants will focus on strengthening American industries, unlocking capital for innovation and entrepreneurship, advancing energy efficiency and smart infrastructure, and training the next generation for the workforce." It is the goal of President Clinton for people to leave this meeting having generated new Commitments to Action to adress challenges in the U.S., particularly through job creation and investment.
Aside from President Clinton, other distinguished participants include Indiana Governor, Mitchell Daniels Jr.; President of The Rockefeller Foundation, Judith Rodin, and many more.
