Grace Church's Winter Comfort Drive: Success!

Georgetown Ministry Center thanks Grace Church for running a "Winter Comfort" drive!

This past month, , located above Georgetown Ministry Center, held a "Winter Comfort" drive for GMC. They collected socks, towels, washcloths, and a few blankets for us and dropped them off on Sunday, Nov. 20. Our guests are always very happy to receive new socks. Many thanks to Grace Church for the drive and for everything they do for us!

As we've blogged about on our website, dry socks are more important than many of us realize. Wet feet are not just uncomfortable, but also dangerous. Staying in wet socks can lead to health problems such as trenchfoot, frostbite, and hypothermia. By passing out socks to our guests, we can help keep our guests' feet dry and warm.

We may not be able to take clothing donations (here's a list of places that do), but we will always accept adult socks, new or used, as long as they're clean. Questions? Contact us.
