Hidden Talent at Georgetown Ministry Center

On October 20, Georgetown Ministry Center unearthed some hidden talent when we held our first-ever talent show. While our guests were initially shy, we had a few brave souls play the guitar, dance, and sing for us. Staff also participated by reciting poetry, telling a story, and singing.

The talent show was a learning process for everyone. After seeing staff perform, our guests visibly relaxed. After the show concluded, there was talk of another, with more people interested in participating. The show showed us all that GMC is a safe, welcoming, and supportive place to be; it takes a lot of courage to perform in front of a crowd, and the fact that there were smiles, applause, and encouragement from all definitely helped reinforce the community feeling that Georgetown Ministry Center tries to uphold.
