Point-in-Time: Measuring Homelessness in Washington, DC

Help Georgetown Ministry Center conduct the annual Point-in-Time survey on Wednesday, January 25. Join GMC staff in canvassing the neighborhood and counting unsheltered individuals on the street.

The Point-in-Time survey is a coordinated, annual count of individuals and families in the region who are homeless. This year, the count for unsheltered individuals will be conducted on Wednesday, January 25, between 9:30pm and 2am.

Join GMC staff and other volunteers in canvassing the Georgetown area for homeless individuals. The aim is to collect a count of how many people are on the street in our area, and we also try and complete a questionnaire for every person we meet on the street.

Want to participate? If you would like to help, come to GMC on Wednesday, January 15, between 9 and 9:30 pm. We are located at 1041 Wisconsin Ave NW (map and directions here). Dress warmly and bring a flashlight, if you have one.

Why do we gather this information? The information will be used to help determine the need for supportive services in the District. It will also help us learn how homeless assistance organizations can better assist people on the street.
