The California DMV rejected a vanity plate request that featured the name of the Washington Redskins, according to a recent report by ABC-10, a San Diego TV news station.

Last year, the Washington Post reported that “Redskin” is banned as a personal license plate in DC.

In Virginia, Gov. Terry McAuliffe says he will continue not to take a stand. “It is not up to a governor to tell a private business what to do with their business,” the governor said, according to the AP. “I am about growing our economy. I’m about diversifying our economy. … The voters elected me to get jobs, and this team here is helping me get jobs.”
