Chamber Concert by the Friday Morning Music Club

Free Spring Chamber Concerts in Georgetown by the Friday Morning Music Club

A community of music lovers and musicians, the Friday Morning Music Club, Inc., has promoted classical music in the Washington area for over 120 years. Join us for our Spring concerts, including the enchanting outdoor season finale of the Tuesday concerts at Dumbarton House on June 9th. Programs include:

April 21st, Noon: Barrière, Jean-Baptiste: Sonata for Cello with Basso Continuo. Schindlöcker, Wolfgang: Adagio and Fugue in E Minor for two cellos. Janet Frank and John Moran (guest), cellos. Biber, Heinrich: Sonata. Eunju Kwak, violin. Mozart, Wolfgang Amadeus: Divertimento in B-flat Major, KV Anhang 229 (439b). Ken Latchis and Arnold Saslowsky (guest), clarinets; John Hoven, bassoon.

May 19th, Noon: Bach, Johann Sebastian: Trio Sonata BWV 1039. Pam Broene and Molly Moses, flutes; Nancy Bridges, (guest), cello; Sharon Ollison, harpsichord. Bach, Johann Christoph Friedrich: Die Amerikanerin, ein lyrisches Gemälde. Karen Mercedes, contralto; Barbara Gholz and Michael Casassa, violins; Caroline Brethauer, viola; Ginny Atwood, cello; Sharon Ollison, harpsichord. Haydn, Franz Joseph: Quartet Op. 33, No. 3, “The Bird”. J. David Brown and Sheyna Burt, violins; Caroline Brethauer, viola; Joanna Taylor, cello. Giordani, Tomasso: “Lady Jane Grey’s Lamentation.” Karen Mercedes, contralto.
