Circulator: Crossing Rivers and Sharing Philosophies

What was meant to be an basic trip on the new Circulator turned into a soulful examination of one bus operator's love of driving.

In the middle of an early September day, I decided to check out the much-hyped Circulator route that would take me from Georgetown to Rosslyn and back. I never expected to meet someone like William Edwards, my bus operator, who takes pride in his job and was eager to share his enthusiasm with me. Unlike his other passengers, I had no real destination, the ride was the point. My video tells the interesting lesson I learned that day from Edwards as I tried out the new route.

The District Department of Transportation unveiled the new Circulator route with service between the Dupont Circle metro and Rosslyn metro with stops in Georgetown on Aug. 27. The new line operates from 7 a.m. to midnight, Sun.-Thurs. and from 7 a.m.  to 2 a.m. Fri. and Sat.
