Whoa! DC Adds 14 New Speed Cameras

Cameras added on Reservoir, Wisconsin, Massachusetts and Cathedral.

The District unveiled 14 new speed cameras around town on Tuesday, according to the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia. The cameras join dozens of others around the city.

The deployment locations for the Photo Enforcement Units will be sites where speeding or restricted truck traffic has been identified to be a problem, according to police.

A 30-day educational phase started Tuesday, when violators will only receive warning citations. After 30 days of warning tickets, MPD will begin issuing live moving citations to violators.
