DC Eatery Touts Sandwich 'Full of Bologna' Inspired by Donald Trump: Report
'I was an outsider just like Trump is," says diner owner who ran for mayor in 1988. "You've got to be creative."

A Washington, D.C. restaurant is touting a new sandwich on its menu: “The Trump sandwich full of bologna,” reads a sign outside American City Diner and published by WJLA-TV on their Web site.
The Connecticut Avenue eatery’s owner, Jeffrey Gildenhorn, tells the TV station that he was inspired to create the sandwich by GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump.
“I ran for office to be the mayor of D.C. in 1988,” Gildenhorn said. “I was an outsider just like Trump is. You’ve got to be creative.”
