UPDATE: DC Firefighters Find Four Bodies Inside Burning Home

DC Police Chief Cathy Lanier calls fire "suspicious." Home is in the 3200 block of Woodland Drive NW, according to police.

UPDATE: Four people died Thursday in a fire at a home in Northwest DC, under what Police Chief Cathy Lanier is calling “suspicious” circumstances. The Washington Post reports that one of the deceased is a child.

The home is located in the 3200 block of Woodland Drive NW. The area is near the Naval Observatory.

Photos from the scene posted to social media showed cars at the scene from the U.S. Secret Service.

The Washington Post spoke to a woman who said her brother Savvas Savopoulos and his wife, Amy, live in the home with their children. Savopoulos is listed as the CEO of American Iron Works, according to the company’s Web site. NBC-4 reports there are three children in the family.

NewsChannel 8 reports that firefighters from surrounding jurisdictions — Prince William County, Montgomery County and Arlington County — were also on the scene.
