DC Issues $1 Million in Parking Tickets During Blizzard: Report
Snow emergency is lifted Wednesday night in the District.

WASHINGTON, DC -- While most people concentrated on the amount of snow that fell on the nation’s capital, those who got their cars towed or ticketed during the historic blizzard are looking at the amount they now owe the government.

NBC-4 has the numbers: More than $1 million in parking tickets, more than 600 cars towed, more than $65,000 in fines.
The District lifted the snow emergency Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Under a snow emergency, cars cannot park on snow emergency routes and the District Taxicab Commission implements a Snow Emergency Fare, adding a flat fee of $15 to the metered fare during the snow emergency.
