DC Police: Arrests for Solicitation of Prostitutes Now Total 175

Police announced Monday they have arrested an additional 8 people in a prostitution enforcement operation.

Members of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Narcotics and Special Investigation Division Human Trafficking Unit announced Monday they have made additional arrests in a prostitution enforcement operation.

The crackdown started Tuesday, July 14, when the Metropolitan Police Department’s Human Trafficking Unit began a special prostitution enforcement operation.

The eight new arrests took place during the last few days, bringing the total arrested in this operation to 175 since Tuesday, July 14, DC Police said. These incidents occurred in and around the downtown area in Northwest, Washington, DC., they said. All eight arrested were adult males charged with Solicitation of Prostitution, according to police.

The Metropolitan Police Department continues to respond to complaints about crime and encourages the public to contact the Metropolitan Police Department with those concerns.

The operation is ongoing, police said.
