DC Teacher Accused of Molesting Child Held in Jail Without Bond: Report

More details emerging about alleged incidents.

Bond has been denied for a D.C. teacher accused of molesting a child and the teacher will remain in jail, according to a report Thursday by WUSA-9.

Giovanni Pena taught fourth grade at Oyster Adams Bilingual School, 2801 Calvert St. NW.

Pena, 31, is charged with second-degree sexual abuse of a child, according to a report by WTOP radio station.

The school has posted a Q&A for parents of students at the school to help them deal with the accusations.

The TV station says that the teacher, 31, allegedly sent a photo of his private parts to a 10-year old student. Pena also admitted to touching the victim’s private parts over his pants inside a classroom at the school on more than one occasion, the station report said.

Pena has worked at the school for seven years and has been suspended from his job.
