DCPS 2-Hour Delay, Local and Federal Governments Open

The snow and sleet overnight will make for a slippery morning commute.

The overnight storm left a layer of snow over the D.C. region, but was not enough to close the D.C. or federal government. D.C. Public Schools will open two hours late. The District government warns commuters to "be aware that snow, in some places, has fallen on sleet, leaving some  surfaces icy."

Federal agencies in the D.C. area are open and employees have the option to take unscheduled leave or unscheduled telework days. Emergency employees are expected to report to their worksite on time unless otherwise directed by their agencies.

The District Government will open on-time today.
