Donald Trump Comes to Town for Groundbreaking for New DC Hotel
The project represents a $200 million redevelopment of the iconic Old Post Office building.
Donald Trump and his grown-up children came to DC this week for a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the building of a new Trump hotel in the nation's capital.
The Trump family and local dignitaries delivered brief remarks outside and in front of the Old Post Office building in DC, followed by a ceremonial ground breaking. The project represents a $200 million redevelopment of the iconic Old Post Office building and is among the newest additions to the growing Trump Hotel Collection.
The new hotel will be called Trump International Hotel, Washington, D.C. and will feature 270 luxury guest rooms, averaging more than 600 square feet, making them the largest in Washington, D.C., according to Trump.

The hotel will include two presidential suites, located in the historic former offices of the Postmaster General; they'll average 3,500 and 5,000 square-feet, and will be among the largest in the country, Trump promises.
The property will also offer 36,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including a 13,000 square-foot Grand Ballroom, the largest among D.C. luxury hotels. Guests of Trump International Hotel, Washington, D.C. will also experience a 5,000 square-foot Mar-a-Lago Spa by Ivanka Trump and state-of-the-art fitness center, luxury retail and renowned restaurants.
