Eastbanc, Jamestown, & Acadia Secure Long-Term Lease for Duxiana in Georgetown

Renowned Luxury Bed Retailer to Open First DC Storefront in Cady's Alley

Washington, DC – A great night’s sleep awaits in Cady’s Alley. EastBanc, Inc., Jamestown LP, and Acadia Realty Trust announced today that DUXIANA, the premier luxury bed retailer from Sweden specializing in sleep technology, has signed a long-term lease to occupy the retail space in their Georgetown Renaissance Portfolio at 3307 Cady’s Alley, NW. With over 88 stores worldwide, the 2,072-square-foot store will serve as the brand’s first DC showroom with plans for a grand opening slated for this December. Ken Houchhauser and Lee Block of Winick Realty Group represented DUXIANA in the deal.

Since 1926, DUXIANA has worked to manufacture the world’s most comfortable beds. DUX® High Performance Sleep Systems are the result of nine decades of research and testing. At the core of each DUX mattress is a set of springs precisely calibrated to accommodate all sizes, shapes and weights, ensuring users a good night’s rest. The DUX bed even has customizable components, offering more or less support in certain areas and allowing the user to switch out spring bases to replace or upgrade their products as mattress technology improves. At the DUXIANA showroom, users can improve the quality of their entire bedroom, featuring, not only the DUX bed, but also the highest quality headboards, linens and down products.

“Duxiana’s arrival in Cady’s Alley adds to the wide array of home furnishing offerings in Georgetown,” says Philippe Lanier of EastBanc. “In conjunction with our other recent design openings, Duxiana brings Cady’s Alley ever closer to becoming a full-service hub for home goods and décor.”

The new showroom will complement the many high-end home good and furnishing stores currently located in Cady’s Alley, commonly referred to as Georgetown’s Design District. The deal is one of many in the recent Georgetown Renaissance leasing activity that includes popular home decor brands Resource Furniture, The Shade Store and Design Within Reach’s expanded Cady’s Alley showroom, now open on M Street.

The Georgetown Renaissance portfolio is a collection of high-end retail properties in one of Washington, DC’s premier retail locations. The portfolio also includes boutique office space and 16 luxury rental apartments. Georgetown Renaissance consists of more than 300,000 square feet across 18 properties in Georgetown and one property in Alexandria, Virginia, and it includes the area commonly referred to as Cady’s Alley.
